Default who steals tire jack from customers...... TOYOTA

well, i had my car service 3 times at toyota service center and no body but me drives the car, and the tire jack is missing ( flat tire today and had to drive it to car shop to get it repair) and no i never used it ( never changed tire ) also the day i bought the car i checked and it did had it under the cargo mat.
so i am 100% sure toyota service tech stole it, of course i'm not going in and make a scene about it.. does anyone know where to get one thats cheap. or an universal one?
i've checked ebay they go for $50+

picture of tire jack ( not mine )

the service center is @
EAST COAST TOYOTA
181 Broad Street, Carlstadt NJ

Was the services recent? You do not have to make a scene about it. Why don't you go to the dealership and politely ask them and try to resolve it. If the drive is not too far, you won't lose out much on gas. If they cannot figure out the missing jack, you can see if they will sell you one for a discounted price.

I am sure they did not mean to steal it from you. You figure a service shop would have all the tools they need and they probably do not use a tire jack as they have their machines. A tech probably took it out and forgot to put it back in place.

Are you talking about the lug wrench ( in the cargo area) or are you talking about the jack which is located under the driver seat?

the jack itself is not under the cargo mat, its under the front seat.

Fair enough, but it is not located under the cargo mat, as you mentioned earlier. The jack is under the driver's seat, as others have pointed out. Either you are looking in the wrong place, or you meant "driver's seat" instead of "cargo mat."

Best of luck in anyhow. I wouldn't have found it if I wasn't looking for a place to install an amp. I bought my car used and it didn't come with a manual.

the car is brand new when i brought it, and they had put the tire jack like the picture above under the cargo mat in the rear on top of the spare tire. that is when they showed me where everything is when we drove it off the first day. not under the driver seat... but anyways i checked everywhere and no tirejack.

That sucks. You could hit up a junk yard and get one from a wrecked corolla. They should easier to find. A scissor jack is a scissor jack is a scissor jack!
Do you want a pic of where it's supposed to be stored when you get another one? It would be no trouble.

yea its a horrible place. I immediately relocated mine under the cargo mat in the rear, fits in the same pocket as the jack tools like a charm

I like this spot because I have put other tools in the pockets in the cargo area. I have jumper cables in the long bottom pocket, top left is lug wrench and pliers, middle pocket is where I keep my cigarette outlet powered impact wrench, and the right is full of air freshener ready to be opened and used and a socket set.

thats a bad spot for your jumper cables because if your battery ever does die, you arent getting into the hatch

i keep my jumpers bundled up and have them stored in one of the cupholders on the rear door
