Hey all,

In my last car, I never really put a lot of thought into using windshield washer fluid. I just used whatever cheap brand was available, or sometimes I just poured 100% water into the reservoir.

Now with my 2009 xD, I want to put a lot more care into my car. So this might sound like a stupid topic, but can anyone recommend a brand of windshield washer fluid? I've heard someone say that certain washer fluids contain chemicals that could cause long-term damage to the car (e.g. bad for the paint, easily rusts the car, etc etc).

Are there certain brand fluids that I should stay away from?

 

i just use the rain X one from walmart ... they are like a dollar and change so it's not that bad

 

If u live in a varied weather condition area, get fluid that has low freezing temps (winter formula), and theres one for summer time also that gets rid of bugs and sap easier but with a worse freezing temp.

You wont have any problems with it if you wash your car regularly. If you leave it sitting for months, it doesn't even matter if its windshield fluid, its going to mess things up
