Default xD Autolocks, do they work or not?

I recently purchased a xD and from the Product Reference Guide it says that it has Auto Door Locks that lock automatically when the gear selector goes from "P" to "D" or when you hit 16 mph (depending how the dealer programmed it), mine do not work. So, I am asking if others are working?

Thanks,

Jim

Just picked up mine on tuesday and noticed it did not do that. In what product reference did you see it?

Woah really? I was actually wishing the car would have those on the car, guess they do but it doesn't work. Where did you read that? Maybe we should contact our dealers and find out. Could be something as simple as asking for them to turn it on.

I kinda "borrowed" the Product Reference Guide for the xD that the dealer had on display, so I have posession of it and it reads that it has it as a feature on our car. Maybe I should contact Scion?

Never heard of the autolock on the xD. Might be one of the features of the optional alarm.

Actually thats a good idea, but I have it as well and it doesn't lock. So anxious to hear if it really is a possibility to have on the car.

I looked at the brochure from Scion and it definitely was not listed with an alarm feature but as a standard feature. I have not had a chance to call Scion, but will do some time next week.(unless someone from Scion is monitoring this thread and wants to speak up?)

is it refering to the autolock feat on the car that engages when you hit the Unlock key? After a minute or something of no doors being opened, the car automatically locks itself again

No, just like I wrote in the first topic, the doors should automatically lock when put into Drive or after 16 mph(depending what is programmed by the dealer)

Are you in or outside of the car? If outside did you push unlock on your key and not open the door for a minute or so? I've never had mine lock when I'm in my car and parked.

The xD does not have this feature. I just purchased the xD electrical wiring diagram and no mention of this or with the factory alarm that I have. Sometimes when the literature comes out on a new car, whoever is writing it can get misinformation from the manufacture...This is why there is usually a disclosure of "we have attempted to make this brochure as accurate as possible, however....". So no. No auto door locks on the xD and no color screen on the premium stereo.

ok, if u don't open the door en 30 seconds the alarm will be activated again...just a pain in the @#$@# when ur washing ur car...
to deactivate it u must open the door and unlock the doors, to reactivate it, u have to put the ignition ON and press the red button at ur left then release the button and exit the car putting it on lock, the open it again to see if shuts alone if u don't open the door in 30 seconds, took me a while to read the manual and make it work but maybe this is my way of doing it maybe urs is different hope this info helped u...

GuiLLo_xD_PR: Did you even read the first post? It's nothing to do with the doors shutting when they're not opened after using the key fob to unlock them. Make sure to read threads before commenting.
