Default xD with Raze R74 18" wheels

tC stockers did not last too long - I got bored and got a set of 18s:

Better pictures in couple of days when I get the centercaps.

I plan on getting these 18's with my xD. http://exelwheels.com/bk7.htm After seeing your pics I'm definitely going to have to purchase the springs if I want to fill out my wheel wells. Damn, was hoping I could get away without them ;)

LOL - dammit Zoltiz. I can't keep up with ya. By the time I get ready to starting modding mine, you'll probably have a different car. :D

Gave up and took some pics before the centercaps came in and I had a chance to clean up the tires after shipping.

Running 225/40/18, speed is dead on with the GPS - gas mileage - too early to tell.

Yes, I got them from Edge Racing - been ordering stuff from them for the last 5 years.

Gosh you must have a nice job to do that much to your car already! So jealous Also what the advantage of having 18's instead of 17's? More rims to choose from?

Today I got my car back from Tanabe and I have the... NF springs on my car. Lowered it around 1" all the way around. Though my bf noticed that the rear wheels seem to tilt in on the top. Any way to correct this for my tires sake?

Nice. my friend has the same rims he got for his tC but never put them on. He's been trying to sell but they are 17s but painted in gunmetal.

Car is looking good

Don't be jealous. 60+ hour work weeks with constant stress and responsibility up to my eyeballs make you want to do crazy things from time to time. Crazy things include messing with cute inexpensive cars.

18s just look different and I'm thinking about getting the lip kit, so bigger wheels will help with the overall look. Plus lower sidewall might help a bit in turns, not by much, though.

Are you sure it's not an illusion? Rear suspension on the xD (and xA and xB1 and Corolla and Matrix and Yaris) is a torsion beam - basically entire rear axle goes up and down - both wheels together, so they can't tilt inwards or outwards independently like on a tC. You can try to take it to the dealer or just an alignment shop, but nobody will try to do rear wheel alignment on a car with a torsion beam...

Yikes yea thats a lot of working then. If only I had 30hrs a week at one of my two jobs... looking for new jobs sucks. I think it is an illusion because I don't see any change in the wheels but the bf said he saw it. Dunno. I thought it would be weird that getting new springs would make that happen. Tanabe just told me that I would experience more wear on my wheels with the new springs.

XLR8R: Nah they didn't tell me much. They asked if I would lend my car again to them though.

They were really liking the xD after it was lowered about an inch. I really can't tell haha.

You should ask Tanabe to pay to get your car aligned after the spring install. When the car is properly aligned there should not be any more wear on the tires than at stock height. If it's not aligned after the drop then the tires will wear unevenly due to the change in wheel position and the fact that suspension was disassembled partially for the spring install and it's pretty much impossible to reinstall everything the way it was before.

Hmm... I'll email the guy and see what he says about this. I did think it was strange that I would supposedly experience more wear on the wheels than before.
