Performance

xD's got a performance profile built around an all-new, lightweight, and highly sophisticated engine.

xD's powered by a next-gen 1.8-liter DOHC four
Dual VVT-i can continuously advance or retard both the intake and exhaust cam timing. It’s a big reason why xD makes such strong horsepower and torque
128 horsepower @ 6,000 rpm
125 ft. lb. of torque @ 4,400 rpm
4-speed automatic / 5-speed manual transmission
Short final gearing to sharpen up acceleration in urban street driving
Safety

Just like the tC and 2008 xB it's going to join on Scion show floors later this year, the 2008 xD has an impressive suite of standard safety technologies.

ABS and EBD
Brake Assist (BA)
Driver and front passenger advanced front airbags
Front seat-mounted side airbags
Front and rear side curtain airbags
Tire Pressure Monitor System (TPMS)
Available Vehicle Stability Control and Traction Control (VSC+TRAC)
Comfort/Convenience

Like every Scion before it, xD has plenty of features to help make you comfortable when making time in urban traffic or on the highway.

xD's rear seat can slide forward six inches, letting owners expand the amount of available cargo space
xD's rear seats recline up to 10 degrees to create a comfortable "social space" where you can relax and enjoy the audio system
Tilt steering wheel
Under-floor cargo storage
Upper and lower gloves boxes
60/40 split/fold-flat rear seat
Power windows, door locks, and mirrors
Sun visor mirror
Intermittent front wipers
Rear wiper
First-Aid kit
Rear window defogger
Audio

Scions have always had audio systems with plenty of features. For 2008, the list of features grows longer.

Pioneer head unit with 160 watt max power and standard iPod connectivity
Scion Sound Processing: With choice of 3 pre-set equalizer settings
Six speakers
Sound Retouch (SRT) can help rebuild MP3 music data distorted during the compression process
Automatic Sound Levelizer (ASL)
Pioneer Premium system includes rear head unit outputs to hook up with external amps for the front, rear, and subwoofer speakers
With Pioneer's Premium audio system you can download "skins" to play on the LCD faceplate. Customers can download images, four-second video clips and eight-second movies from Pioneer's website
Pioneer software lets customers load their own images and movies onto the Premium head unit
And there’s a lot more news coming on audio from Genuine Accessories
Style

xD's design is built around simple, clean surfaces and sharp character lines. The dominant features are its pagoda roof, high shoulder line, and the fenders' sense of mass and strength.

It combines a pagoda-style roof with sculpted fenderlines and a wide stance
Inside, xD's designers paid special attention to the fit, finish and materials of the dash and door panels
Key words from the chief engineer? Active & economical
Owners can choose from three wheel cover designs
Class-above materials help give xD's interior a look and feel that's a lot more than you'd expect in a compact car
Colors

Magnetic Gray Metallic (1G3)
Super White (040)
Nautical Blue Metallic (8S6)
Barcelona Red Metallic (3R3)
Black Sand Pearl (209)
Silver Streak Mica (1E7)

So if it was posted in February, why did you click on the link? If you had already seen it, why didn't you just move on to the next subject?

I don't remember seeing this back in February, and I'm sure there are many people new to the forum who hadn't seen it either.

Perhaps he was hoping it was something new, PapaWhiskey.

It doesn't excuse him for being a jerk for no reason though.

Default dual vvti

yummy dual vvti expect mileage to be better than the corrola...

5.7 liter tundra with dual vvti gets better mileage than the single vvti 4.7 liter

7% better city and 11% better highway

that would translate to 32/42

2007 epa specs for corolla.

If that's the case then I would definitely be interested in it. I just wish they would have retained the center dash like the xA.

I'm really curious what kind of mileage the xB is going to get with that much larger engine.

I hadn't seen it either, no reason for the negativity.

The mods will delete if they feel it's a double posting issue.
