Are xDs selling?
I'm curious how scion is doing with the xD because I've only seen one...maybe 2 of them on the road and that was around a scion/toyota dealership, so someone may have been test driving it, instead of actually owning it. Anyone have any numbers? Any thoughts?
I don't know that I much care how popular this car gets. Sure, I hope Toyota doesn't drop the car due to lack of sales- that might make service more difficult in the future- but otherwise I rather like driving an unusual car.
I've seen only one other on the road in our town. And a couple of xB2s.

xD sales for September were approximately 2703, and in August approximately 2854 were sold. These numbers were taken from Toyota's news page. Exact numbers were not revealed, and the numbers above were deduced by subtracting the xB and tC numbers from the total Scion sales for each month. Those total sales numbers could include the last xA's, but I doubt there were very many, if any sold in August or September.

I'd certainly say they were selling well...at least in northeastern Ohio. As soon as a dealer gets one in stock, it's gone. I had to wait over a month for mine. And it will be a while before you start seeing them on the road as they are very rare right now. I've only seen two xD's other than mine, and they were both at the dealer. For right now, it's pretty cool having a car almost no one else has.
Although my dealer swears xDs are selling very well, I have not seen any in the wild (in SE Florida). I see a lot more Mazda3s HBs, and a few Fits, flitting around, but no xDs. Having a unique car is good, except when trying to parts and repairs done well and within a budget.
Please keep in mind the downside of a small sales base. For those in the mod community, without a solid market base the turbo's, S/C's, cat-backs, suspension and interior mods will be slow in coming. Then again, if you can afford to or have the skilkl set needed to go the custom route, you will have a truly unique vehicle. I've been waiting to see if something comes out for the 1.8L, it seems to have nice potential but alas, nothing yet.
Also, informal numbers may be gotten from ScionLife registrations of xD's, has anyone done a correlation on xB and tC sales and SL members?
