i know the ist in jap is offered as awd but has anyone done that to the xd in the states?

I'm not sure but it looks like the floor pan is different... As well as the back seats, and I'm sure a whole lot of other things. Nothing is impossible, but it would probably cost more tha the xD just to do the conversion. In England, the AWD comed with the turbodiesel engine and gets about 46 MPG.
