You paid the $2k for the wheels? Hope they're worth it! The TRD doesn't look like it dropped you that much. Do you know how much they dropped your car?

I should've gotten black looks nice!

Woah, woah... TRD springs, not wheels. No where near $2k on the wheels 1/5th in fact. They are Sportmax 962's.

It dropped it just enough for me. About 2 inches maybe. I am not exactly sure. It was really bothering me before though.

Your reaction is common when I say that I lowered it. I like my cars to maintain a stock look to a degree. Many people cant tell the difference.

I actually wish they had compensated for the slight raise in the rear suspension the way Tanabe did. It would look better if they were even.

On a side note. I didnt have much interest in doing the installation myself, so I posted on the ohioscions.com site about finding a shop to get it done.
Another local member (a tC owner) offered to do it for half of what the dealership wanted. High fives all around to the Scion community.

Ah ok looking at the wheels again they're not the TRD ones Forgot Sportmax had some that look veeeerry similiar

Well I've seen other xD's dropped and you don't notice it that much until they settle. With mine I couldn't tell it was dropped until they settled and now you can definitely tell my xD is dropped.

are they the 17x7 sportmax's? any particular reason you went with such a wide tire?

(not criticizing, just wondering)

Yes, 17x7

Actually, I believe the calculator came up with that tire as the closest match to the original stock specs. The person helping me choose at the shop said thet would affect the MPH the least.

That said, this was the first time I bought aftermarket wheels for a car, and I just took their word for it. Is there any disadvantage to having a wider tire? I havent had any issues in the snow here in Ohio. Then again, some of us can drive on any tires in the snow around here.

i cant see any real disadvantages to it, besides being wider than stock, and that might cause a rubbing issue from full lock to lock on the wheel if you decide to go lower. Most i've seen with a 7" wide rim are on a 215.

Picking a tire is so hard.. I can't remember what size I decided on lol. It was either 215 or 225.. forget the second number. Oh well

Wow! That does look wicked, and it seems to be a very reasonable package - how much did you pay for the rims and tires? Let us know if you have any rubbing and if the gas mileage is affected.

I believe I paid around $800 for the wheels and tires. I originally had ordered the stock alloys when I bought the car. This ended up being comparable in price through the dealership.

I havent noticed much of a change in gas mileage. I can average anywhere from 28 (low) to 35 (very high) on a tank depending on the miles involved. Automatic transmission btw.

The 35 I did only once in a straight shot from Columbus to Pittsburgh. 1 full tank.

Thanks for the compliments everyone. I am very happy with how it turned out.
