Haha, you could keep going and go to an even smaller wheel...
My 1982 Renault LeCar had 13" wheels with just 3 lugs on each wheel, lol... and big, tall 85 series tires...

Who's your Daddy?!

Haha, yeah, that car's 8 years older than you! Ah well, I miss that car too, it was a fun little scooter to drive - had a huge 1.4 liter 85 hp powerplant (put put!) - the only bad thing about it was it had no air conditioning. My xD reminds me a lot of this car - probably why I bought the 'D, lol! But my xD goes like h*** compared to the LeCar, so it's even more fun to drive!

anyway, thought I'd post up that old "tuner" pic just for a good chuckle...

Oh, you like the mesh wheels, do you? I got them at a local Renault dealer, they had another used LeCar, a dark blue one I believe, sitting on the lot for sale with those wheels on it, I asked them if I could just buy the wheels off the car, do a swap, so they sold them to me for $100 for the whole set, along with my trade-in of the stock steelies to put back on the other car... so I have no idea what brand they were, even... I really liked those wheels too, they really added to the look of the car... Ah well, can't touch even used alloy wheels for $100 a set anywhere nowadays, especially at a dealer, lol! Those were the days...

The advantage of 15's performance wise is that you can go lower than with 16's without rubbing if you run a 195/50r16 re11's from brigstone. SUPER sticky tires with lighter rims = performance. Lower suspension = less roll, less roll = better cornering.

The advantages just keep going and going and going.

get 15's slam it on coil's and get the 115 dollar a pop extreme performance summer tires. Tell me ur car is slow then! haha

15x7 with those tires and you should be auto X king...or atleast feel like one.

15's look better anyways.

Didn't think it'd be as hard as it is to find tires for the 15's, just tested fitted my new 15's and getting ready to buy some tires that will look right, hehe, might have to try the 225/50's like what you're running. What actual tire are you running?

Pics of test fitting for clearances:
