To answer the OP, 17x8 +35 will be a perfect fitment, its what I have on my xD, sorry I dont have a closer pic but this is what you will look like with that size/offset:

are you running any spacers??? because im running 18x9 +30 and my rear is as flush as you can get.... without some poke? is the tire flush with the body or is the face / lip of the rim flush with the body?

 

again, the fitment of the wheel varies on design. i have a 17x7 +35 and i leave about 5mm to the edge of the fender. so that extra half inch on each end of the barrel makes a difference too.
