lug nuts question

This may be a stupid question to some of you but I am confused. Can I purchase any 12mm x 1.5 lug nut and fit it on my wheels? A lot of people don't suggest putting aftermarket lugs on stock wheels, correct? Where can i get some new lug nuts!! Mine are all chipped and dull. Thanks for the help

$65 for lugnuts? Even Mercedes doesn't charge anything close to that. I got a full set of five for my VW Golf at the dealership for less than $20.

And to add to this, the tC lugs wont fit on an xD... I know I have tried.

yea completely different lug nut style.

the xD has 60 Degree acorns from the factory, aka "tuner" lugs. tC uses a factory style with washer.

good reference pic:

xD/aftermarket rims use the first style

tC/most OEM alloy wheels uses the second

Mostly Honda using the 3rd
