Default Rim color

Personnally I found black mags ugly, once dirty they look like plain steel wheel when the car rides.
I don't like silver painted wheels because this is what you see on too much cars.
Since your calipers and front grills are green, I would NOT go for white. (my opinions may not reflect that of the other members of SCION LIFE, so members, if you disagree please don't pollute this tread).

XXR wheels are not very expensive but still are JWL/VIA certified.
You will require a set of tuner style lugs and a chrome valve

The ones propose are 2 parts mags with a stainless steel wheel.
Consider General-Tires G-MAX AS-03 to mount on those.

I would go for:
XXR 502 17x7 +40mm black chromium with 215/50R17 tires
on sale for 120$ at NLmotoring.com
http://www.nlmotoring.com/XXR-502-Wh...p/50277102.htm
or
XXR 502 18x7.5 +42 mm Black chromium with 225/40R18 tires
on sale for 134$ at N
http://www.nlmotoring.com/XXR-502-Wh...p/50287102.htm

Actually the set I am proposing is what I ordered for my silver XD. I went for the 17"...can't wait until I receive them. I already bought the G-MAX tires.
Black chromium will complement the dark gray color of you XD and the 2" chromed (polished stainless steel) will make your wheels outstanding and different from the crowd.

The fist set is a bit more conservative size with a more comfortable ride.
The second set correspond to the exact specs of the TRD 18" wheels that mount on the XD. (Scion part number: PTR18-21070).

I like the black rims with a machined face. Anyway, feel free to send me your old rims, I like those.

It all depends on where you live, but I wouldn't reccomend anything polished or chrome for a daily driven car. From personal experience on another car they get pitted and scratched way too easily.

If you like your green accents you can always try to track down a set of takata green TE37's lol

Default Mag protection lipped tire

Nowadays there are more tires that have a wheel protection, so to speak, the tire is a bit wider where it meets the rim so you won't scratch the rim if you scrub a sidewalk. So this help avoiding the point mentioned in the reply above.

See picture attached.

I wasn't talking about curb rash. I was talking about general wear and tear from rocks, dirt, road grime etc.

agreed, Chrome will rust inside the wheel and give you small leaks at the bead that can become a issue and to solve it the wheel has to be resurface...go alloy.
