Default what offset can you use for 18's?

I'm looking into getting an xd, and am looking into some 18" wheels. For those of you who have 18's on your xd already, what is a good offset to use?

sorry I'm new to the site so I haven't yet searched before posting.

thanks
nick
p.s. I'm not sure what color scion to get, but I want a black wheel and blacked out windows. it's down to either white or silver.here is the wheel I'm looking at in an 18x7.5. what offset should I be looking for? what color xd would look best with this wheel in your opinion?

I don't think that wheel would look good with either white or silver honestly. Don't see many cars around with the chrome polished lip like that anymore, at least in my area. If they had that style in all black that would look good on white.

Just remember, white shows dirt more easily than silver ;)

really? black with chrome lip is very popular here in oregon. and IMO I think it would look good on either one, I'm just leaning toward the white. I keep my vehicles VERY clean so my car getting dirty isnt an issue when you wash your cars sometimes twice a week

The offset is relative to the width of the wheel. Saying 40mm doesn't equate to a real answer.

7.5" wide +35 (almost flush w/ fender) and +40 (slightly inset) work fine.

8.0" wide +40 works fine.

We should start a sticky list in this forum...

The "GT" style (face + polished lip) is a nice late 90s/early 00s style. I still like it, but it has been phased for some no-lip wheels. It really depends on how you lower the vehicle and the exact stance though... For example, if you put a deep lip (2" or more) on a xB2, you have to drop it to the ground. That gives a very nice and aggressive look. If you do a simple drop (example, TRD), it looks strange-- to me, at least.

To each his/her own though. It's more about personal style than impressing others... right?
