Need some help...will these fit?!?!
Hey guys im interested in a set of rims for the xb. They are 18x8.5 with 215/35/18 tires. my question is will the 8.5 inch wide rim rub? i dont really want to do any work on the new box. I bought a set of 20's a couple months back and they didnt fit, so i dont want to keep buying wheels that dont fit! lol but if anyone can give me any info on this it would be greatly appreciated!

my 18x7.5's are a tight fit. 8.5's will be very tight. Offset will be critical. I have seen where some people have mounted 8.5's so it can be done somehow, but, I certainly would not want tighter clearances than the 7.5's give. I would expect that rolling the rear wheel lips would be needed (or camber added) and would also expect the fronts to rub near full lock.
It looks like Dubs come in a 45 offset. You should be fine on the front side, and most likely on the back side. But, You may have a slight issue with the rear clearing the swing arm, also may rub at lock. Good new is any problems aught to be pretty easy to fix.
My 18x7'5s have a 42 offset they only clear the rear arm by less than 2MM at the tires (the 8.5's will stretch the tires a bit perhaps and make a little more space) I would expect that a thin spacer (5MM perhaps) might be needed for a 45MM offset to not contact.
