Default Meguiar's to Give $10,000 in Parts for Your Scion!

MEGUIAR’S GIVES CAR CRAZY FANS THE CHANCE TO SHOW OFF & TRANSFORM THEIR RIDE WITH NXT AMPED UP CONTEST AND INSTANT WIN GAME

Car Appearance Leader Will ‘Amp Up’ One Lucky Enthusiast’s Ride With $10,000 Worth Of Upgrades And a Trip To The 2007 Auto Aftermarket Show In Las Vegas

WHAT:
Meguiar’s NXT Amped Up Promotion

WHEN:
May 4, 2007 thru July 31, 2007

WHERE:
www.nxtampedup.com

DETAILS:
The car crazy appearance care experts at Meguiar’s are offering enthusiasts the chance to show off their pride-and-joy, and 150 people will win an NXT Generation® Car Care Kit worth $50. Best of all, one lucky car guy will win the opportunity to customize and transform their car with $10,000 worth of parts from sponsors Baer Brakes, Phoenix Gold Mobile Audio, Toyo Tires and MHT Wheels. Just like your favorite racing game, the winner can spend all the money on upgrades with one company, or spread select components from all four.

Contestants need to visit the NXT Amped Up website to upload a photo and a brief description of their vehicle. Fans and contestants will then have the chance to vote once a day for the best vehicle until the competition ends on July 31. All entrants will have the chance to win the grand prize, which includes an all-expense paid trip to Las Vegas to display their newly ‘Amped Up’ ride at the 2007 Auto Aftermarket Show in a Meguiar’s exhibit.

CRITERIA: Vehicles will be judged on the following:
• Overall Appearance/Curb Appeal
• Paint (Gloss/Shine)
• Attention to Detail
• Wow Factor

Ya, that makes a lot of sense... the car that will probably win will probably already have $10k spent on it. So the people that could really use the $10k in parts won't even have a chance. WTF?

Nice. The car that wins won't need 10K in parts. I agree that a car is NEVER done when it comes to customizing, but this is kinda unfair.

some company needs to make a contest where there's a cutoff point to the amount of money that's already spent on the ride.... or multiple categories, e.g. $0-1000, $1000-3000, $3000 - 5000, etc etc

I agree with everyone else, what a waste of time. If your car wins that award, you obviously dont need 10k.

Or.... you could say thanks for a chance to show off your car....

Do yall only enter car shows that you know you are going to win?

I don't consider this a "car show" though. If it were going somewhere to show my car out in public and have a good time with other people around talking about cars, sure, I'd consider. But it's an online photo submission for a contest.

It takes money to make money. That is nothing new.

It's not showing off your car the same way that you would at a show.
Hell, when I go to shows, I don't usually register, I could care less about a trophy, it's just a good time.

So yea, I'll send them a picture of my car, why not, but there's no way most of us would even be considered.

Lame Lame Lame.

Hey here is a great idea! Lets give a bunch of money to someone who already dumped a bunch of money into their car. Not much of an "upgrade" if you ask me.

im guessing it's something called marketing. here is an incentive for you to spend money on your car to get more money.
