Default Alignment / need recommendation

I am currently riding on progress tech coilovers. I am pretty low and clearance is becoming an issue with regard to getting an alignment. I am unable to get up on a standard alignment rack. I need a place that has a floor alignment rack or a shop with a pit. Any recommendations would be cool. Even if your not sure if a place can do it, just drop the name and I will call to find out.

Thanks.

Matt

I took my tC to Town Fair Tire in West Roxbury (right near Clair) last Wednesday for an alignment after putting on my Hotchkis springs. They did an awesome job and it didn't long at all. Being a tire/wheel shop, they seem to have everything one would need to do an alignment on any car, so I would assume they could also work on an xB. Give them a call at (617) 323-2882 if you have questions. Good luck.

Well, I went to town fair tire in New Bedford on Sat. and they turned me away.
Not only because of the clearance issue, but the tech made mention of sensors not being able to read properly????? They didn't want to try. I have a couple of places I will try after work.

Alignment Specialty in Brookline
Bumper to bumper in Norwood
Campello Front end in Brockton

We shall see.

I also found a guy who does custom street rods. I just got off the phone with him and he said he aligns street rods that sit 3 inches off the ground.

I didn't think an alignment with coilovers would be so difficult.

where in Rochester are you? I live right at Mary's Pond.

I have not been on a lift since installation. I have a mechanic who lives in Rochester. He can pretty much deal with anything (except alignments). If you need a good mechanic for anything PM me and I will give you his number. He is back yard style, but very honest and very good at what he does.

Ah ok. Well hopefully one of those places or the hot rod guy can get it taken care of for you. You ever come up to the Boston area for a meet? You and Ben (MrScion07) should come up here sometime when we got something going on. Good luck with the alignment.

Yea.... I know there is a football field right behind his house. Dave - Daves Repair. Good dude. Anything I don't want to tackle myself, I bring to him.

Sounds like you got the hook up though.

So Alignment Specialty in Brookline was able to align my car yesterday. It was REALLY close, and it took a little bit of creativity but they got it. The 205/40/17's were completely done so I swiched to my 15's w/ new yokohamas. The difference in ride quality w/ my progress coilovers is literally night and day. So now I am torn between a smoother (as smooth as you can get on coilovers) ride vs. the look of 17's. Riding that low w/ the 17's just looks so nice..... I don't know if I can give that up.

I need to update my pics but here are the 15's when I was on S-Techs

These are my 17's on coilovers. This was when I first installed them. I was a bit conservative in setting the ride height. I have since brought it down all the way in the rear and the front sits about 4 1/2 inches off the ground.

Obviously the 17's look better, but the 15's ride so much nicer.

Never been to a meet before. I suppose I would come check one out some time. I just don't really pay attention to when things are happening.
