Hey Mac Users...
...how can I move some of my music from my desktop to my laptop? I don't wanna burn CDs to do this or put music on a flash drive. iTunes is opened at the same time on both and it says "sharing" but I can't click and drag the file from the desktop to the laptop.
I went to the Apple store and the IDIOT we spoke to there couldn't help us! It was like he didn't know himself...some help he was! Go figure, an Apple employee...
C'mon Mac people, help me out...

well, if they both have airport cards u can access the other computer i believe... maybe a firewire to firewire connection? or flash-drive the stuff over.
You should be able to connect the two with the firewire ports. You can link them together and one of the macs will recognize the other as a hard drive and will allow you to copy to/from it. You could also just use a USB flash drive, that's what I did also.
If you are on a network you can transfer them regardless of OS. Or if you have bluetooth on them both you can transfer through that too.
(I'm assuming by desktop you mean another computer system and not the background of your OS)

That's where we're lost. We can't figure out how to put it into her library, without using a flashdrive?
The easiest way is in system preferences, turn on file sharing and share your home directory. Then simply copy everything you want from that /Users/yourusername/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music/ directory to your desktop then drag it into itunes to import it
hope this helps

Yeah you can't just drag and drop in iTunes you have to go through a file manager (I'm assuming you are command line illiterate) or a flash drive. Share the directory that your music is in and access it from the laptop then copy the files from the shared directory to the music directory on the laptop. iTunes should do the rest from there.
