dear all,

i got the stock wheels which is 14" in my car and have to go for 15", is it bigger wheels reduces the fuel mileage and power of the car ?

fuel mileage and power stay the same, but the spedo will read slower then the vehicle is actually going, the bigger the wheel, the less times it turns in a given distance then a small wheel. the car may appear to have less power if the new wheels are heavier then the stock ones, but that should be negligable.
your MPG will "read" a little different, because the car thinks it is going slower, and covering less miles, but if you have a scan guage or a gps, you can tract your mileage accuratly and calculate your MPG better.

NOT TRUE!!! Wheel size makes absolutely no difference in speedo readings or fuel mileage or power. The overall diameter of the tires used will effect speedo, and maybe even mileage and performance if they are not the same overall diameter (and therefore same circumferance) as the original tires. A larger tire will make the speedo read low and decrease RPM at any given speed A smaller tire will make the speedo read high and increase RPM at any given speed. IF you get the proper tire that matches the diameter of the original size then the only effect to any of these things would be from any addition or subtraction to the weight of the wheels and tires. More weight would decrease mileage a little ,less would increase it.

 

Yeah, no Scions came with 14s. Must be an echo or something.
