Default New Monroe Shocks N Struts

Has anyone tried out the new Monroe Shocks and struts made specifically for the XB?

I wanted to know if it would drop the front even more than the echo struts drop the front by.5inch, and if ride quality was improved even more. I have TRD springs waiting for the shocks and struts

I think the idea is that it doesn't drop the front at all. The only reason the echo ones do is because they just happen to be shorter for that application.

Yup, the only reason the Echo shocks droped the front any was because they were made for the Echo. Shocks and Struts do not normally add any noticable drop. I believe these shocks would be just like stock, only ride better.

so, if I'll be doing a slight drop (TRD) front and back, theoretically the echo shocks would be more in their optimal operating zone than the new one made specifically for the xb right?

Not really. The TRDs are only an inch drop so the Monroes should live a long happy life at the slightly lower level. I'l be getting Monroes all around when the time comes. I'm still surprised it took them so long to service our application.

Incorrect. The Echo front struts lower perch (where the bottom of the coil spring sits) is a little bit more than 1/2" lower than the XB struts. Other than that, they are exactly the same.

We got the KYB's for the Echo for $173 with free shipping for the two struts and two shocks. And they do have them OEM replacement for the XB's at the same price.

Erm, no. Yes the perch is lower but they are also about 1/2" shorter overall too. I had mine right next to the stock struts. I don't think I took a pic at the time, but there has been alot of discussion regarding the difference here-
