Default How to Create a Website?

Hey everyone. A friend and I are starting up a website and we were searching around for prices on Domains. Does anyone know of any good ones. I was told Misk.com was good. Also, if anyone knows where i can see an advanced how to for writing HTLM i'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks alot everyone.

Godaddy.com is great for domain names. It's hosting that you should be the most wary of. You'll want a company that's reputable. Dataracks.net is a great site for hosting. I'm not sure about advanced how-to's for HTML. Get into CSS, they will be imperative to your knowledge of creative web development.

They would have to upload to the host using a script that you've either created or found on the 'net for doing that type of stuff.

http://www.1and1.com is good for hosting and domain packages. I have them and I've never had problems with them.

To host videos you're going to want decent pipes (bandwidth) and disc space.

The first thing you want to do is to determine what platform you're going to write the site in. There a few ways to go. Once you know what language your site will be you can look at hosting companies.

How many videos will you be serving up? How big (file size) will the tend to be? How many sessions (viewers) do you want to be able to handle at a time?

Figure this stuff out before you build and things will go more smoothly for you.

well hostmonster has 3000gb of bandwidth. we'd be streaming most of our videos from youtube, yahoo!vids, etc... so it eliminates the total space needed. The files will be at the most 50mb and id say at first, a few dozen people at a time watching a vid, but in the future possible hundreds.
