Default A Question for xB1 suspension gurus

I have a query for suspension gurus. I have an 2004 xB, and when I load it up with passangers, the ride in back can get a little rough. I am interested in modifications that will give my passangers in the rear seat a better ride. Currently, my car is TOTALLY stock, and I am not interested in "performance" in as far as better handling or cornering from a racing performance perspective, all I am interested in improved comfort for my passangers and myself. The car handles great with one or two people in it, but four can be bumpy in the back. I am not looking for a complete overall of the entire suspension system, just looking for adjustments or modifications for improvement.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

you might want to try changing out the rear shocks for some better ones like monroes or something.

Ditto the Monroes are what you want for sure. The #5987s are for stock height down to 2"s of drop. The #5870's are for more than 2"s of drop.

I agree.. Im running the 5870's cuz their a shorter shock so it doesnt bottom out on the shock internally.

You want a better ride? Buy a sedan.

Bottom out? What's that? I'm thinking about dropping my car no more than 1.5". Sounds like the #5987 will work and better comfort than stock. Would I have to worry about this "bottom out" issue?

What about the front shocks? Is that pn the same for the front?

^^^Nah, most people use the stock front struts till they need replacing. Monroe also has part numbers now specifically for the xB so when all 4 corners need replacing you can go Monroe all around.
Mine is dropped 1.5" on Hotchkis springs and the ride is much nicer than stock. It's amazing the difference the Monroes made in that department.
