Well I only have about 28000 miles on my box and already need some new brake pads!!! My main concern is that I would like to buy some drilled & slotted rotors but I have seen many diff prices and styles. Does anyone know what the diff kinds of metals and if it would make a diff to buy cheap ones or are they all pretty much the same type of metal??? thx guys

 

Well as far as metals go, I can't really help you. I do recomend that you don't use slotted and drilled rotors, they have a tendency to crack/warp. Pick one or the other. I myself use Powerslot Rotors (I pay about $150 for the pair), and axxis ultimates (I pay about $50), they never fail, and I beat the crap out of them. As far as pricing is concerned, you get cheap parts for your brakes, you end up with cheap performance. I really suggest you don't go cheap on your brakes, its an important part of your car, and keeps you safe.

28K huh? Seems awful soon to me. I'm at 32K and I have more than half the pads left.

 

and im at 15k and need new pads already too.. i was gonna go the powerslot route myself.. just waiting on a few more things

 

my oem's went at 33k..... I have 34,XXX on Axxis sport deluxe now..I have some Ultimates in waiting

 

You guys must brake pretty hard. I'm over 80K and still on the original pads...

 

I'm on my 4th set @ 50k. Drive it like you stole it.

I wasn't pointing fingers, just saying that I only drive stolen cars and rentals that way.

 

I do all of my own maintenance including brakes, so it actually isn't that bad.
