Good website hosting recomendations?
I want to build A BASIC websit reviewing some products and selling some stuff, pretty much just basic html, BUT i want something that comes with a good site builder, and extras like stats, etc
i heard some bad things about godaddy.com, and that you can get MORE for the same price with other hosting sites...i've never done a website before, so something fairly easy would be nice too
recommendations?
Thanks
jeff

ive had experience with many hosting companies: infinology, successfulhosting, godaddy, hostway, etc. in my eyes godaddy is a good deal in that it is cheap for what you need and what they provide. i do webpages for my side work and things only get pricey if you need a higher package or a dedicated server. get the basic package, add in email, and make your domain registration private and you should be good to go. add in a free cart like oscommerce if you want since it is very easy to configure once it is installed. the reason you will like them is because of the support they provide. next in quality on that list is hostway and then successfulhosting. trust me money matters when you have an issue and you have them running around because they do not know what they are doing. it is worth the extra money for competent support when issues arise. email me at webmaster@enjetek.com if you have any questions. ive dealt with hosting AND domain name companies and when you get running in circles it gets very frustrating.

I use http://www.1and1.com for my hosting and its great. A crapload of storage, bandwidth, etc. for a very low cost. Another one I've looked at is http://www.polur.net. The look good too with more reasonable offerings for your money (1and1 offers a lot for very little money but its kinda daunting to try and fill it all..)
The only thing I used GoDaddy was to register my domain, then I switched it to 1and1 because it was cheaper with my hosting plan.

Cool thank you all so far, with godaddy i hear you only get 10 pages for what you pay for...is there anyway around that w/o paying an arm and a leg? Also, how is their site builder, ease of use, etc?
Thank you BOTH, again

those are their plans if you need to use their site builders. what i do is get these:
https://www.godaddy.com/gdshop/hosti...ed.asp?ci=9009
and start adding the items that i need such as shopping carts, galleries, etc. since you said you wanted to do your own basic html this would give you more control over what you have once you get better at it. i am a software engineer so coding websites in php/asp/coldfusion/etc isnt a problem but im sure you could pick it up and this could save you money. if you go with the second link then you wouldnt be limited to 10 pages but the draw is that you dont get to use their site builders. good luck

Any recomendations for sites WITH site builders that you let do more than 10 pages, and still don't rip you off?
