Default not guilty, or guilty with reason?

so i have court on monday for reckless driving (more than 20 mph over the posted speed limit) from a state trooper who said he paced me doing 90 mph in a 65 mph zone on I-68 east going, and this is the funny part, UP sideling hill. also, this ticket is worth 5 points, and i have some prior speeding tickets, but none of them for this high. my last ticket was for 1-4 mph over the speed limit.

now, at the time i wasn't driving my tc, i was borrowing a toyota corolla with upsized aftermarket rims. it was also red with a spoiler, but hey, beggers can't be choosers, my tc was getting its transmission overhauled.

now then, because the wheels and tires were larger than the OEM size tires, the speedometer was reading lower than the actual speed of the car. so i did not realize i was going that fast. i really don't think i was going 90 mph, the state trooper paced me, and was a total jerk, and since it wasn't a radar gun, there is no receipt that says my actual speed. i think he was being a jerk and upped the speed of my car because i was driving a red toyota corolla complete with a spoiler and big rims.

so when i go to court, do i say i'm innocent, and explain this to the judge, or say guilty with reason and explain it to the judge?

I would talk to a traffic lawyer and see if they can help you out. Mine over here does wonders. $99 flat rate and he dropped my 68 in a 35 lol...

guilty.

it is your responsibility to know the car you are driving. say you crashed into an object, you can't say i didn't know i was driving faster because of the larger wheels so it is not my fault. having prior speeding tickets won't help either.

you can still say not guilty and see what they say, but you were speeding and got caught. as mentioned above, you should of found a lawyer. paying a couple hundred could save you a big headache.

well, it wasn't my car, i wasn't informed of the inaccuracies of the speedometer. i noticed it the next day when using a portible navigation unit (garmin) and comparing the speedometer of the car to the actual speed according to the gps, it was progressively off as speed increased. but when i use it in my tc, it is spot on.

I've never heard of the speedo being THAT off, maybe 5-6mph off how fast do you think you where going? I can one of two things happening. You must have been going pretty fast for a cop to pull you over for speeding without a radar reading.

You show up for court,
-Cop does not show up, your scot free.
-Judge lessens the ticket to something lower.

well, i decided to plead guilty with reason, explained it to the judge, who was a total d!ckhead and looked at me as if i had run over his dog or something, and said not acceptible, shoulda been aware i was going 90 mph, this is my 7th ticket since 2003, i find you guilty, no reduction in fine or points, 300 dollar fine, and 5 points, so f*ck washington county, f*ck the one of the two state troopers who actually showed up, there were so many that didn't, but ofcourse, mine did show up. whatever, i am unfortunate, i broke the law, got tickets, paid fines, get points etc, whatever, despite the fact that i have never been in an accident due to speeding. whatever...i'm ____ed, now i gotta study for exams.

LOL!

I think you are guilty. First, if you ever borrowed my car and received a ticket in it for driving reckless, I would kick your ___, and then never let you borrow my car again.

figured you would be guilty, but at least you recognize that you were at fault. that is more than what most people do on here.
