I want to get a set and tint them up real nice. Anyone know where to get a set?

 

Good luck finding them. You will need a VIN to have any shot at buying them, and even then, they will be insanely priced. Get the regular TYC's. Only difference is the amber, but if you are tinting them, that shouldn't really matter.

 

Yeah I don't want any amber cause I hate it. I have spent too much time striping my car of all the amber to put more back on. I figured it would be tough to get.

 

if you get teh TYCs and red tehm out they wont blink amber, thats waht im doin

 

So are you painting the red first, and then tinting?

 

if someone with a release series TC went to a dealer, could they buy some and resell them to somebody?

 

That is why I am posting this because that is an option for me as well if someone is willing to do it.

 

I think the red overlays on the regular TYC's don't look right. They don't match, and it just looks odd. I heard if you tint them dark enough, the top won't flash amber anymore. Not sure though.

 

im not tinting them black, im just painting a candy red over them. so that the whole taillight is red minus the reverse light.

Yeah but at this point for me, I get my ***** busted enough that it doesn't really matter anymore. Plus I am not gonna black them out. More along the lines of a smoke.

 

i just called the dealership up and they said they can order em for $150.33 each. im not sure if thats for the TYC lights but i told him for the special version of 07, gave him the VIN too. hope that helps u a bit.

Edit: called up another dealership a few miles away, told me they would be $325 a set. didnt ask for a VIN on the phone.

Edit 2: davedave i asked if $325 was for 1 or 2, he said 2. btw im fairly surprised by the price i figured they'd be more...

p.s. im not offering my services to buy these, i was just curious.

 

Thats not to bad considering that the amber TYCs are 375

 

thats teh set buckets was talking about the RS3 ones are a lot more, call back and say you want the release series 3 taillights and watch what they say

 

I used Vans Lens Paint on my TYCs. There is zero amber! Just all red. :D

those are for regular TYCs..

i'm sure the people at the dealerships that he called don't know the difference...

the RS3.0 TYCs aren't worth that cheap.
