Default What size tires for 16x8 +15?

OK, I just ordered SportMax 501's

16x8 +15 offset that is a 3" lip per the Sportmax website.

I have the Tein STechs springs that have a 1.7" front drop and 1.5" rear drop.

I want a set of tires that I don't have to stretch.

What size should I get?

Also do i need spacers for these?

If anyone has size set up please post what sizes for tires and spacers you used if you had to?

P.S. I do not want them to stick out and look like a and old roller skate. Tongue

Thanks guys and gals!

205/50/16 is your best bet. get the falcon 912, nice tire for a good price
http://www.edgeracing.com/tires/2055016/
im ordering the same set up in less then a week.
the 0 off set would make them stick out like theroller skates.
get a 15mm hub shimm for the rear and it will look nice, no rubbing issues at aLL

I would get 205/45/16s for better clearance. You might still need some camber tho.

50 is not any wider then 45
50 Will fill out the wheelwell by extra 5 mm more than stock. Acceptable for most cars.
the problem with the 45 is its .5" shorter then stock and
When speedometer reads 60mph actual speed will be 58.7mph 2.2% slower.
with the 50 When speedometer reads 60mph actual speed will be 60.9mph 1.5% faster.

its all up to realy, its hard to get a tire to be the same when you are dealing with this size. i all depends on what you want.
for me im going with the 50 because id rather be going .9 MPH faster than 2.3 MPH slower and +5mm is nothing to be worried about.

if you wanted to stay farther away from the fender (not that you should worry about the 205/50/16) you could use a 195/50/. this would come away from the fender only .2" over the 205/50 and When speedometer reads 60mph actual speed will be 59.9mph 0.2% slower then with stock.

with the 16x8 +15 offset you will not need any camber, not with just the s-tech.
now if you used the 0 offset and used the echo struts, then you might have a few small issues.

205/45R17 is the recommended size for the box, but no one really runs that size. It's a bit too narrow for one's liking. I would go 215/45R17 because it is the closest to stock and its wider than 205. If you have more questions, do not hesitate to ask.

...15mm shim spacer will make the rear track match the front track? I wont need to roll the rear fenders right? I really do like 205/50/16 tire size...I had them before and l love the performance and ride for this size tire.

Sorry for all the questions, tires and wheels are not my strong point!

im quessing that it wont be a problem. if it is im just going to come down to the 10mm or IDK i might just roll the fender anyway.
give me time to get the wheels in and ill let you know for sure.

Trust me, you'll rub. I rub right now (slightly) with 205/50/16 with 35 offset and 15mm spacers. AND my fenders are rolled a bit.

I'm on my 8th set of wheels and about to get another set (SportMaxes coincidentally...)

Less diameter will lessen the chances of rubbing. That's why people run undersize 195/45/15's on SportMax 002's.

so you have 16x7 + 35 and a 15mm spacer with rolled fenders and you still rub?
is it just in the back that you rub? how bad?
ive got the same spring and strut setup you do with 15x7 + 38 and i never rub

ill look into the 195/50/16

I rub only over big dips, just slightly. But I know with 20 more negative offset I'd be shredding tires.

I have 205/50/16 on Sportmax 501 16x8 and they WILL rub. I am lowered about 1.5"

The tire does fill the wheel well nicely though.

ok...
so ill just get the 195/50/16 and come down to a 10mm in the rear or get rid of the spacer all together.

205/45/16 would be a good choice too. I personally feel you need a 24" tire to fill in these wheel wells no matter how low you are dropped.
