i dunno, do you want to paint them red. do you like the color red? if you like blue paint them blue. it's your car so do what you like. it's a good idea to paint them if you want the look of a BBK without the BBK lol.

yeah, lots of people have done it and it looks great. just be sure that you have alot of time alotted to do it. mainly because your brake have to be cool, degreashed, and have enough time to properly dry. i've seen some tc's that didn't do it right, and looked kinda crappy with paint flaking off their brake calipers.

so make sure you follow directions and take your time because this is really one of those things where you reap what you sow.

Red helps you stop faster too!

In all seriousness to this topic, the tC calipers are butt-ugly, so I like the silver to keep them low-key.
I'm too used to really good quality calipers on my bikes, so these things really aren't lookers...
But they look fine if you decide to do it.

^^That's why I did mine in black. A subtle touch of 'custom' that hides the ugly greenish grey calipers.

dqlostsoulz, how about a DIY for this?

did you sand the calipers beforehand? what kind of paint, etc?

No i did not sand them....did not feel they needed to be, but thats just me. Its pretty basic: Buy the dupli color caliper paint kit @ autozone or kragen it comes with detailed directions and everthing your going to need for the job. Its around $17and it comes in red, blue or black. It just takes a lot of time and lots of coats. Must be patient and that was the hardest part for me.....because if you rush it will not come out beautiful! And you cant drive it for 24hrs.....to let the paint fully cure . And dont forget to use rubber gloves (does not come in the kit). If you have any question holla at cha boi!
By the way if you can jack up the whole car all at once it will be way faster...i did two at a time because my drive way is uneven and was afraid to have the car up in the air .

i'm assuming from the pics that you left the calipers on the car while doing them, that must have been a lot of newspaper cover up and masking tape, lol

looks great though, i will have to try this out soon.

would the engine enamel work as well? i was just at autozone last week and compared the caliper paint and engine enamel (which i already have a few cans of) and they seemed like basically the same stuff.
