Default Addon advice for a new(used) '04 XB owner - please help! :)

HI everyone. I live in Michigan and may be picking up a pre-owned 2004 XB soon! There's one close to me at a good price in the dark hunter green and I may pull the trigger and pick it up. I can't wait!

My question is what add-on or OEM elements would everyone recommend adding on? I've been doing some researching, and knowing the '04 came pretty stock (no alloys, spoiler, fogs), I'm considering adding those 3 elements. Good idea? At least the fog lights add some function and style

Other than that how does everyone feel about the Cold Air Intake?

Center arm rest with storage (is the storage here even an option?

Euro Tail lights?

Map light up front? Trunk hatch light?

Overhead storage compartment (is one of these even available)?

Are there any other add-ons that would be recommended to make the car nicer, function or look better? What are your opinion of the ones listed above?

I'd like to pick up many of these items at a good price, and alltogether if possible to upgrade this puppy all at once. Is Ebay the best route to go, or is there one site I could bulk order many of these things at a good price?

Thanks so much everyone. I'm glad to be a part of these forums. Reply and help me get my Scion up to speed with all of yours Looking forward to joining the brotherhood.

Welcome to this crazy but fun Scion World! The very 1st thing I had to have done to my Box was add the rear spoiler...this was a MUST!
Next came the Tein H Tech drop and it pretty much took off from there.
You WILL be bitten by the Mod bug sooner or later...

ha. I can feel the bug biting already. I'm looking at picking up the '04 dark green color (that's the one that's a good deal by me right now). Do you think the black carbon style spoiler I see on Ebay would look slick?

Rims are the answer.

Nice, Rims are 1st on my list. I can't stand the wheel cover look either. Prob. then spoiler and fogs. window visors and perhaps a bra or bug guard. What about the interior? Any good sources for additional interior lighting and/or storage?

Springs should be the first thing on your list.

The term 'euro tails' just doesn't sit well with me on a Japanese car... there's a lot of stuff you can to do modify the stock tails that look better than the TYC ones or what have you.

Congrats on the Camo purchase, BTW!

Burstaneur - what would you recommend doing to the tails that don't cost an arm and a leg?

duck_dodge - what about a tinted bug guard for the hood?

first off -- welcome

secondly, i recommend you take your time and research all the available parts that are out there -- there are about a dozen different Cold Air/Ram Air intakes available. worst thing would be for you to get something that could sour your new scion relationship.

also, if you are wanting to save some money take a look at the classified sections here on scionlife. you may find that someone is parting out his xB, and you could get some parts for a great price

for taillights, how about some LED ones?

and for foglights -- get the JDM ones, they are a bit brighter than the scion ones

I did a redout on my stock tails. Pull the lens off, mask the reverse section and hit em with Testors candy apple red transparent. 10 bucks worth of paint and clear turn signals instead of amber. They look way better than the stockies, imo.

Other options are VHT smoke spray or vinyl overlays. The vinyl is less permanent, but costs a bit more, and can be tricky to apply.

I also recommend any intake by Fujita. I have a Fujita short ram and love it.

Excuse me, I'm a novice at this. Are the springs for looks, smoother ride, or both?

thanks guys...

Looks are definitely tops, but the car handles better too with lowering springs.
