I am thinking of hopping on the 501 band wagon. I really dig these wheels, but I am torn on what color to get.... I am thinking that gunmetal and camo might look cool. Anyone have pics of a Camo with 501's???? any color. Also curious to see if any one is currently running the OTG shims with 15x8 +15

j/k alot of buddies of mine have the 501's. They are a nice looking wheel for the money especially if you'are a budget. Plus great fitment without rubbing.

What color is your car. I have always loved contrasting colors with wheels.
white with red wheels
black/green with gold wheels
blue with red wheels
white with black wheels

Yea, I have absolutely no hang ups regarding "real" or "fake" wheels like a lot of peeps on here. Guitars, amps, and other gear like that.....that's another story... . Regardless, it would be a step up from where I am at now.

you know, I was thinking gold on the camo...but I don't know. That might be a bit to much for my taste. I mean, I see them on other camos (Camotrav), and think it looks great, but I am not sure if I want to go in that direction.

Well, if no one knows if the 501's, OTG shims and rolled fenders will do the trick, I guess I will just have to find out on my own.

thats what im doing, finding out on my own.
im doing eather 16x8+15 on 205/50/16 or 195/50/16 with tein SS+P coilovers.
what ever happens happens and ill just go from there.
ive got 15mm OTGs right now but ive got a friend that has 10mm OTG thats willing to trade me if i need to.
im only a few days away from ordering everything.

 

Well lets see my SSR's were 15x7 +13 with a 15mm spacer in the back (hub like the OTG). So that put me at essentially a 15x7 -2 offset in the rear. I rubbed horribly on my Tein Basics even with no passengers, and I had about .5" left to go down on the perches. No rolled fenders though. i hadn't had time to do it so never got down.

So if you have a 16x8 +15 wheel with a 10mm spacer you would be essentially at 16x8 +5. You would probably rub a little with rolling the fenders but a skinnier tire might solve that problem. as well as raising the coilover...but who wants to do that hahaha


Check clubxb.com I know a bunch of those guys on there have answered many a question about the 501's and getting them to fit perfect.

 

well bad news, i went to order my wheels and tires today and the black 501s are out of stock and will not be available untill the end of the month at the earliest.
