Default Spring Install Problem, Joint Popped Out.

help! everything was going smoothly with my spring install... and this just so happened on the last when i was putting everything back together.

i was attempting to put in the two bolts which attach to the brake/wheel assembly... and i think i accidentally ended up popping out the axle which connects to the transmission. now the brake/wheel assembly is leaning at an angle and is no where close to getting attached back to the strut. how do i fix this? i'm working on getting pix up. thanks in advance.

please view pix here... https://www.scionlife.com/gallery/sh...00&ppuser=7482

just grab ahold of the axle and push it straight in. it should kind of click once back in. make sure it meshes. you'll know if it's meshing or not. it's no worry man. good luck . pm me if u need more detail

don't worry abouyt it, the axle poping out has happened to the best of us. And its not a big deal, but now you have the experience to handle the situation. Good Job!

Just make sure you don't tear the rubber boot around the uni joints. And you're good to go.

weve been able to pull of three spring installs so far without that problem, but it is something i remind everyone of when we start on each install. glad you got it done without further problems. no doubt you will enjoy the new ride.

Default old thread

Ok...I know this is an old thread but after searching i found someone else who ran into the same problem as me.
I just installed my springs and struts but ran into this same problem...
It seems like i got it back in and the rubber isn't torn but a handfull of the greasy liquid dripped out. My question is...Do i have to get the fluid filled up again or can i continue driving without taking it to a shop???

If it was liquid only, do not worry about it. The just fluid from the grease gel.
