HALO 3 RULES!
- We’re hoping for a 64, or 128 players Tournament
-8 player Slayers (NOT TEAM SLAYERS) match on 4 tv’s (2 players per screen)
-But the TVs are donated. So there could be some with 16:9 screens or 4:3 screens.... and different sizes
-There’s going to be no seeding round. players will be randomly place in the brackets
-Players can bring their own controller, 360s, TVs, Monitors, headphones, speakers, etc....
-But can’t bring a keyboard and mouse... (I know it’s possible to play Keyboard and Mouse on Halo 3. Therefore banning it)
-Players can adjust their settings before the match.
-7min time limit
-Top 4 kills at the end of the match, advances to next round
-If tied for 4th. Kill/Death ratio will break it
-If that’s also tied, by the number of medals receive at the end of the match
-If that’s also tied for some reason.... ahhhhh.. LITTLE HELP HERE GUYS!?
-(I think they do that automatic, on who ranks on what at the end of the match)
-Maps will be announce at the day of the tournament
-The Winners of the Halo 3 Tournament will get...
-1st = $500
-2nd = $200
-3rd = $50
Rock Band Rules!
These rules are still under development... It won’t be final til the day of the tournament... So here’s a rough draft of what we have...
-Hoping to be a 16 (or 32???) team/band bracket...
-We’re going to use my XBox 360 copy of Rock Band... and donated equipment (guitars, drums, mic, controller, headset).. So whatever song I have on my 360 is legal for the tourney.... I’ll make a list of what I have later...
-Band vs. Band
-Players can bring their own guitar, drums, and/or Mics/controllers
-Drummer & Guitar is mandatory to compete. Vocals & Bass is optional (for extra points)
-Both Bands can pick a certain amount of songs depending on the round.
-For Round 1. Any songs under the.....
-WarmUp
-Apprentice
-Round 2
-Solid
-Moderate
-Quarter
-Skilled
-Challenging
Semi Finals
-Blistering
-Nightmare
-Finals
-Impossible
-coin toss determine who goes first
-Scoring.... (now this is complicated here)
-Players get to pick difficulty
-at the end of the song. We average out (ONLY!) Guitar and Drummer’s performance percentage
-depending on what difficulty they pick... They’ll get extra points... (note: this is still bring worked on)
-easy = 0
-medium = 1
-hard = 2
-expert = 3
-So, if the guitar player picks expert, while the drummer picks medium. That duo will get an extra 4 points
-If the team can survive with the Vocals and/or Bass. They’ll get an extra 1 points per extra member. A maximum of 2 points regardless of what difficulty they play in.
-Guitar/Bass/Drummer can also be the Vocals. and still get the extra points for it
-In case of a tied...... I gotta think of something here... -.-
-if the whole band fails a song (that includes vocals & bass). We’ll use the final percentage score they got at the fail point.
-The Winners of the Rock Band Tournament will get...
-1st place team= $500
-2nd place team= $200
-3rd place = $50
-Their’s going to be a 3rd place match for the semi-finals losers
OH YEAH! I forgot to post this!!!... WE'RE ALSO RAFFLING OF A NINTENDO WII! and other stuff.. An extra Raffle ticket will be $1....
And DON'T forget to reserve your spot with John!!!

example...
For the first Round... I said Under the Warm Up, or Apprentice category... So you can pick... "Here it goes again" by Okay Go (Warm Up), "In Bloom" By Nirvana(Warm Up), "Should I stay or should I go" by The Clash (Apprentice), or "Buddy Holly" by Weezer (Apprentice)
If you want to get an idea what songs are under what category / tier...
Use the wikipedia link...

Make sure you arrange it on Band lowest to highest...
I'm about to reamp the Rock Band Scoring system since I personally didn't like how it turned out... so here's a rough draft of what I made up...
Since I didn't like how the scoring system was like on the first draft... I change it up a bit... so here's what I think might work... IMO..
I'm basing my adjustment from online play, my playing experience, and my people's intel....
rock band guitar & drums scores
expert = playing percentage times 1.5
hard = playing percentage times 1.35
medium = playing percentage times 1.2
easy = playing percentage times 1.0
(for the extra points / extra members)
rock band vocals
expert = playing percentage times 0.03
hard = playing percentage times 0.02
medium = playing percentage times 0.01
easy = playing percentage times 0.005
rock band bass
expert = playing percentage times 0.015
hard = playing percentage times 0.01
medium = playing percentage times 0.005
easy = playing percentage times 0.001
The reason why there's more extra points for vocals than bass is cause.. first off if you played the Rock Band, you already know what I'm talking about... if not.. I don't think I know anyone or online that can play vocals on expert that often.. While the bass looks too easy to play on expert....
So what you guys think???

feel free to argue with me about my scoring ratio on this one.
But on the reserve side....
I only got 4 teams who already register for Rock Band. And only 1 (and it had to be a female) for Halo 3...... *face fall flat*
We just did a flyer drop last Friday afternoon, but damn it seems that some gamespots are **** about flyer drop... I still gotta contact the 3 colleges, and spam the hell out of my myspace friends.
That's it for my update.

DAMN!! Can't believe my band didn't win! haha
It was a good time, and thanks for throwing the event. My only suggestion in the future would be to have the bands play the same song per round. That would even out the playing field.

but the "judging system" I'll full explain how it all came to be.... on the myspace blog.. later in the week... right now.. I got .... alot more stuff to do at home, and get my Supra ready for next month..
no what he meant was that since 2 bands play against each other to move on, those 2 teams should play the same song... that way it would be even...
in some cases, one band got the hardest song in the category and then the band that they are going against gets the easiest song in that category...
other than that it was fun... lagged at times tho... should definitely do more than 1 tv for the rockband
