Default Help with tire wear

I got 17" tires and the passenger rear is wore down to the cords in 8,000 miles. All other tires look new. Had a 4-wheel align. done and they say that wheel is out of alignment. Then the say there is no adjustment. Whats my next step as any help would be appreciated.

If the rear wheel is out of alignment then rear axle or spindle or rear axle mounting arms or frame of the car is bent. Get it to a good collision center that can measure and find out what is wrong. One other possibility is a badly out of round wheel (should be very noticable on a wheel balance machine.

Another thought. Is the tire store the same one where you got the tire that wore out? Are they feeding you a line of BS to avoid replaceing a bad tire? If you suspect this have the alignment checked by another reputable shop. Tell them there may be rear alignement issues and see how it checks out.

Good luck.

If 1 out of 4 went bad i would look into a bad tire. If your the original owner and the car has never been in an accident then that is your answer.

If your not the original owner then like Ted mentioned you may have back end damage and your axle may be off.
