Do you have to get the shocks also? Or can you just get the springs installed?

Also, do dealers have lowering springs as an option when you buy a tC? If so, how much do they charge?

 

from what some people have told me, you dont need shocks unless you are going to drop it more then 1 and a half inches. i droped my tc down a little more then that and didnt swap the shocks..hope tht helps

 

yes they do have TRD springs that they will install at the dealer
they are 1.25 "drop in the front and 1.5" drop in the rear
they are great springs powder coated white
i personally like it a little stiffer and lower but they improve handling a lot
my dealer charged $394.00 w/installation

no you dont need shocks but the trd shocks will improve the ride even more

if you can afford it, and you enjoy taking turns just a little faster than the guy next to you, get the springs.
i've got them on mine and they are the best option i got. you don't need the trd shocks, the springs work great on their own.

was the 349 price just for install?

 

How much would it probably be to order them seperately and get them installed by a shop?

 

i just ordered them for $99 ($115 with shipping, etc) from mcgeorge parts. i'm still shopping around but i think i can get them installed for $200 max.

 

I put new springs on mine with the stock shocks about a month ago. The ride is nice and the handling has drastically changed. I don't know how long the stock shocks are gonna hold up, but they are doing just fine right now.

 

you guys are making me want spings even more!!! After the major flooding in the houston area i was feeling discouraged about dropping my car any further for fear of water damage.

one question... after your car is dropped w/ the trd springs will it still clear the parking cement block things they ussually put at the end of a parking space?

 

i have rubbed on one when i pulled to far into a parking spot, but most arent tall enough to rub also the tC is short so i just dont pull as far into the spot, then it will have no chance of rubbing

there also shouldnt be any problems at all with the shocks it isnt a big enough drop to worry about , macphersons are good shocks

 

I've rubbed my front bumper once, but that was enough for me to learn my lesson. If you lower yours, be very cautious of how close you are pulling to that curb.

One other thing that kinda sucks, snow. If there is a lot of snow build up you end up hitting it with your front end. Its a little scary. Its not that big of deal though, i had to drive 45 miles in 7 inches of snow last week and didn't hurt a thing!

The springs are definatly worth it!

uhhhh Mammoth Mountain in Cali has a 4 to 6 FOOT base depth already....

 

wow sounds like you need a 4x4!
or you could put the tC in the garage for the next six months, and ride a snowmobile!
