Default Is anyone running a Trailer Hitch Setup on their 1st Gen xB!

I'm looking for info.

I know Curt Mfg. makes one for the xB; but their techs were less then helpful when seeing if it would work with a xB with an aftermarket exhaust.

My xB has a Strup 2.0.

Anyone running a Trailer Hitch Setup?

I'm looking to have an option to tow my R6.

Thanks

SEN

I also have a invisi-hitch from e.trailer.com (draw-tite) with a small utility trailer. 140 lb trailer plus 200lbs of stuff. Best mod for me to date my mpg averaged 38 mpg on the way to Tupelo MS. and 36 mpg on the return trip (approx. 1000 miles rt from Cincinnati)[img][/img]

Finished a 2 week, 2500 mile camping trip to Oregon last month and the xB did great towing the tent trailer, along with being loaded down with bikes and gear.

I have the one that is made by a company that starts with a D, I think lol.
The receiver go's up instead of in on the back of the xB so it works really well with a lowered Box.
It sits up inside the bumper.

I installed a Draw-Tite Invisi-Hitch.

It took 30 minutes and works well.

The trailer is a 4x4 u-build trailer from Harbor Freight. I only paid $145.00 on sale. It was $189.00 and the price has since risen to $229.00

I did tow a Mazda Pickup Bed Trailer full of old carpet and it was a little sluggish but weighed over 1200lbs.

I also ordered the Accessory receiver for a bike rack and put lights on the rack because the bike tires hide my taillights.
If the dealer wants to know why I have the tow hitch or lights installed, THATS WHY!!

I have an invisi-hitch sitting in my hallway waiting for a dry day to install it. I'll take pictures and post them.

I did a lot of searching, and etrailer was the cheapest, especially with free shipping over $150.

I was thinking about this tonight... I saw a bike pulling one of these and for some odd reason, thought that it would be a perfect mod...
