Default What's the biggest tire I can get on my TRD 18's?

I currently have the 215 35ZR 18 Pirelli Pzero-Nero's that came from the factory, but I was hoping taht I could go with 45 or 40's. Anybody know if that's been done before?

I have 225/40/18's on my Motegi MR3's and they rubbed... I just trimmed some of the plastic under the wheel well and now it only rubs at full lock.

It looks a lot better because my car isn't dropped, and I don't plan on dropping it.
The 35's looked too skinny and showed too much gap... But if you want to lower your car or don't want any rubbing, go with the recommended size.

You shouldn't go any bigger than a 35 side wall because any larger than that is different than stock height and will throw off your mileage and speedometer readings. The 18's w/ the 35 side wall are setup to be the same size as the stock wheels in height category

so then what's the difference with the 19's? B/c I'm riding on 35's. So I assume if 18's with 35's are about stock. Then 19's with 35's are over stock.

I'm not arguing with anyone, don't get this wrong, I'm a lil confused about the whole thing too.

By the way, I asked the mechanics at the dealer if my 19's would throw off my speedometer and odometer and he said no! but what he said that confused me and didn't make sense to me was that the odo and speedo are controlled by the ABS! I think he's wrong there though...

screw that, i am going to up my tires as soon as i burn the stock 18 out. such small side walls and no overhang on the rim is just asking for trouble. no problems yet, but more tire is more room between the road and your expensive rims.
