All i have to say is WOW this game is sick, i actually put COD4 down just to play it. Anyone else have it, and what do you think about it?

picked up mgs4 yesterday - omg, it's awesome. finished Act I last night. good stuff.

checked out the online too and it's not bad - no lag and pretty fun.

 

Amazing story! You'll all like the ending. Just make sure you sit through ALL the credits ;)

its really that good? i loved MGS on the PS1.... but MGS2, 3 and so on just got dumb with the storyline and the villians were silly. Vamp? and the guy in the wheelchair? come on..... i lost faith after MGS2 and snake eater. MGS on PS1 still owns em all

 

I still have to buy a PS3. And that won't be for a while.

MGS2 was my favorite.

 

It returns to its roots. It's a bit far fetched, but so was the whole mecha thing with REX.

It's not really a game anymore. It's an interactive story. If the story held you throughout the series, you will love it. The gameplay is great (improved controls) but it's as long as most people hoped.

Here are a few spoilers that may add to your enjoyment. Simply a few added gameplay mechanics that shouldn't completely spoil the story. If you're scared, stay away.

You return to Shadow Moses (MGS1)

The boss battles are nicely put together with proper backstories.

Gameplay is about 10 hours (decent speed) with about 10 hours in cut scenes =o

i jsut picked up the game last night but is it worth to go out and get the LE pack

 

still in the middle of Ninja Gaiden 2, but my roommates are playing MGS4 and i have been watching.. looks great.. awesome cinematics..

 

i personally dont htink so.. its just a making of DVD and a soundtrack.. id rather spend the money towards the essential mgs pack

but yeah man that game is awesome! anyone have any tips to kill the leopard sniper thingy? haha

 

if you dot mind me asking what are the essential where do you get that at

 

the essential pack is mgs1, mgs2, mgs3subtinence.. you can buy it at frys or best buy for like 30.. all in one pack

Agree with you 100% MGS1 was the best out of MGS2 and MGS3. (I'm glad I'm not alone on this one.) I lost faith in it too.

Still havent played MSG4 but it look like it's a good game.

 

I'll put some screen shots up once I get home.

The LE is worth it only if you're obsessed with the series like me =P

The Essential Pack is only worth it if you haven't played parts 1/2/3 or if you want to get the re-releases (Substance/Subsistance versions). Alternatively, buy it if you're a fan, hahaha.
