The verdict: I asked Ria if she loved or hated the xD. She offered an opinion worthy of a diplomat. She said the car was ugly, but so ugly that it verged on being cute. She loved its fuel economy and maneuverability in the city but dumped it the moment she had cause for a long highway drive with her mother and two sons.

Me? I love any car that makes me smile, as the xD did. In terms of design, it is whimsical bordering on silly but enjoyable nonetheless. It is indeed a good city driver. It has the personality of a goofy best friend and offers the service and reliability of a favorite pair of tennis shoes.

That would have been a good article if he paid attention to how it drove just as much as how it looked. I went through the first page thinking how well the article was written, expecting him to go into detail about his test drive, and then it just sort of... ended.

It's funny... everyone uses the single word descriptor of "CUTE" for this car LOL. This will be the cutest car on the time attack circuit! Oh yea!

I'v been seeing a few more D's cruisin around town. seeing them drive and I never noticed how big the front bumper is. the backward rake of the stock suspension doesn't help. Having the TRD stuff put on and the car is rake the way I like it. bumper doesn't seem so giant anymore.

I personally think they look great. But only in certain colors. Kinda want one to add to the Scion collection, but I think i'm done buying cars for a while. 3 in 3 years was a bit excessive.

Considering even my wife calls my xB ugly, it's one of the best cars i've even driven. It out does the tC on so many levels.

I personally like the xD as well as the xA. They dont look like to much out of the box. But throw some nice wheels and a drop, some tint, a hatch spoiler, and aftermarket grill, debadge and maybe an aftermarket exhaust and intake for a lil growl and they look pretty cool. I would get one for a comuter car if i could afford it cause the way i drive my tc the gas mileage aint that great.

that's a lot of work just to get it looking nice lol

I like them as is, but the add-ons for the RS 1.0 don't hurt either <3

thats not alot of work. plus you dont even need the exhaust or intake thats more for sound and a few extra horses.

The way he raves about the shifting shows how little he knows. If he thinks the xD shifts well he's never been in a car with a good shifter!

I have an xa and test drove the xd.

The xd has the power the xa was lacking. It also comes standard with keyless entry, cruise, and the speedo/tach is in the right place and is resembles the style of a high end car. The speedo is blacked out until the car is on, then it lights up.

The suspension feels tighter.

I think for the money difference it has more bang for the buck. I like the style of the xa much better though.

Seeing as the xa's in this area are selling for more than blue book used, the xd is much more viable.

Doesn't mean i'm selling my xa though!
