Default No Luck with xB wheels!!!!

Ok here's the scenario... i'm not a newbie to tuning cars however the xB is my "beater" however it seems everytime i buy something for it.... i have an issue lol

Anyhow in the past i picked up a set of 16x8 0 offset sportmax and with my tanabe's i was rubbing in the rear under load....which wasn't acceptable and i didnt want to modify the rear or flare it so i sold them.

Recently i picked up 15x7 Drag 21's + 40with 195/50/15's off a buddy (had them on a 1995 eg civic hatch) and when i went to install they were rubbing the brake caliper.... and needs spacers which honestly i dont want...i'd rather get a lower offset.

So here is where i am....

I'm thinking of selling the drags on a honda site and keeping the tires (they are mint) and just getting something a little wider/lower offset.

Any decent recommendations given the following?

Dropped on tanabes
Don't want to "stick out" on my Camo 05 xB
Flush with fender
Can run 195/50/15's

Thanks in advance.... if you honestly post up a link to a great deal on a set of something I'll work on rewarding you in someway

I would highly consider looking at the Sportmax 501 in a 15x8.
The 15 offset is pretty nice.

Others to look at would be the Axis Oldskool.

You don't want a 0 offset, that will poke out.

the 501s with the +15 off set are nice as long as you arn't too low.
i was on s-tech with the +15 and i was ribbin in the rear a little with anything in the back.

yeah the 0 off set is way to much.

the One Ton Garage spacers 10mm with a 7" wheel and 42 off set will be dead flush to the inside of the wheel well and you can tuck a bit with no rub

I run konig maxxim screech 15x7" 38offset with 195/ 60R-15s on df210s 2.2"front 2"back drop, with no problems and the tires fill the wheel wells. I've got stuff in hatch and 3 passengers hwy and city no problems. hope it helps.

thats what i did.
i was on s-tech then i put 501 16x8 with +15 offset and i was rubbin, so i just put on some Tein SS coilovers.
it was ok but i still wanted to go lower, so ender up rollin the fenders and doing a -3 camber in the rear only

Yea, but with the shorter sidewall that you're getting, it should be okay.

i think the axis OG san mesh wheels come in 15x7 with a lower offset than usual, like a 20 or 30 if im not mistaken... otherwise, youre going to need to either get the typical +38 to +42 wheels and use the OTG rear shims, or put up the bigger bucks and get a staggered set of SSR's or other higher-end wheels.

btw i also think the konig rewind comes in a lower offset as well. might want to look into that one too

ok........... let me give you a break down on what i went threw with the +15 offset set up.

i have the black 16x8 15 offset with 195/50/16 falken 912
when i first put them on i had s-tech springs with 10mm hub spacers and the back rubbed so bad i had smoke comming out of my wheel wells, the front is not an issue, never has been.
first off the hub spacers had to go.

i took everthing out of the back and it went away for the most part. about a week after that i installed my Tein SS coilovers so i was able to rase it up a little untill i put my -3 camber on.
even with that ............ at hightway speeds i would still rub a tad bit every now and then.
so i gat a Eastwood fender roller off ebay, used it and then just turned around and resold it, i only lost like $50.

i no longer EVER have any rubbing issues

this is befor camber with out fenders rolled, with nothing (and when i say nothing, i do mean nothing, no spair tire no storage bin, nothing) in the back and noone in the car

the next 2 is with camber without fenders rolled, alos "nothing" in the back and noone inthe car.

and thease last pics are with the fenders rolled

and this is with "alot" of stuff in the back & driver + 1 passenger

no more rubbing, "EVER"

You keep mentioning 16" , i'm going to be running 16"

I ran a 16x8 0 offset with the tanabes and under load 3 people rubbed
i hopefully will be fine with the 15x8 and 15 offset

15" w/ 195/50/15 is 22.67" diameter
16" w/ 195/50/15 is 23.67" diameter

so (simply) 16-15 = 1"

Yea, you should have more than enough room between the fender. I wouldn't worry about it.

depends on what offset you go with.
you should run 195/50/16 because its closer to stock size and it will keep your speedo acurate.

with 15 offset, -3 camber and rolled fenders you will be fine.

i know your runnin 15, i was just tring to show what the deal is with the offset.
the other thing to consider is a 195/50/15 is a full inch shorter then "stock" size.
When speedometer reads 60mph actual speed will be 57.4mph, 4.3% slower.
it will also lower the car a 1/2 inch + your MPG and your ODO will be off
for your ODO......... when you have gone 10k (acording to ODO) miles you will have only gone 9565. so the ODO will be showing more miles then you realy went.

im not tellin you what to do.
im just giving you facts and showing what i went threw to get were im at.

this will make your car apear to have more miles on it then it realy does.
