Default reclearing a c/f hood

im going to reclear this c/f hood im buying was wondering if anyone has any suggestion's my friend is a painter he say's he thinks just wet sanding it and then polishing the hood will get the clear off so we can reclear it sound good or what? all suggestion's will help i don't want to ruin the weave thanks!

or do i just scuff the part thats blemished and just reclear the hole hood without wetsanding at all? please suggestion's lol

it wont get the clear coat off but it will level out the clear coat. you'll need to wetsand and buff nomatter what

you could just 600 wetsand it and then reclear then wetsand and then buff. why buff twice

ok........ well thats how they repaint cars, 600 wet to take it down, 1500 wet and then clear and then 2500 wet and then buff

any reputable shop should know how to reclear anything you could ask them.

well my friend can paint we are going to try it that's why i was asking i was debating on doing it myself or taking it to a shop

really 600wet,then 1500 wet,then tack,then clear,then say 2500 wet,then polish and buff.if you do not know how to sand maybe talk to a shop about how to do it cause you can screw it up by going through layers of gel coat and get it looking bumpy.

my friend is gonna do it he is pretty good but im gonna go 2 this guy's shop i know and see how much he will charge me i will put some money into it i got it for 150$

Just wet sand with 600 grit. Do it enough to just take the clear coat off and make the hood like dull/hazy and smooth.

Like someone else mentioned, don't sand too far or you'll hit the gel coat.

well i just got the hood and it seels 2 be cracked all the way threw the weave doesint look that bad but i dont think reclearing it will help but i will take pic's and get some advise
