Default Best full 3rd brake light kit or way to go.

I know it's been talked about alot, but what's the best full 3rd brake light kit or way to go. I would like to do it myself so is there a good kit, or some recommended leds and where to get them? I read that with some when you add leds it makes the center original ones look orange. I would like them to all look the same.

If you want a DIY, you can modify your stock tbl. LED Headz can probably send you a kit for you to do so. Contact O5_TRD_tC or Squallheart for information on this.

Otherwise, Oznium and VRD are your best bet for an aftermarket tbl.

the added led arrays from the LEDHeadz kit are an exact match to the stock array in design, manufacturer, and size.

we're just giving you two more arrays to add on to each side.

Because the 63 year old DMV clerk is likely to say its illegal purely because the word "tint" and its a young guy. I'd ask here too.

if you have to ask if its legal, chances are its not. it does not depend on who is working at the DMV or whatever...any tint on any light is illegal in Cali...

on topic: the LEDheadz ones look good as do the Oznium ones. VRD ones just have the white plastic piece tinted red as well as having it fully lit.

i was referring to checking online. i googled for you guys and discovered tinting the TBL should be alright as long as you don't do your tails. your dmv says tail lights must be visible from 1000 ft at night and 300 ft in the day. tinting the tbl should be alright as far as i can see.

Lights:
Your car must have the following lights:

* Bright (high-beam) headlights which show objects 450 feet ahead.
* Dimmed (low-beam) headlights which show objects 150 feet ahead.
* Two red taillights mounted on the rear, visible from 1,000 feet.
* A white light that makes the license plate visible from 50 feet (The plate must be kept clean).
* Two red stoplights. They must be seen from 300 feet in the daytime, and must come on when the foot brake is pressed.

All vehicles, including animal-drawn vehicles, must have at least one white light visible from a distance of not less than 1,000 feet to the front. They must also have two red lights visible from a distance of not less than 1,000 feet to the rear, or one red light visible to the rear for a distance of 1,000 feet and two red reflectors visible from all distances from 600 feet to 1,000 feet.

Oh sweet lord baby jesus, is the 3rd brake light thread resurrecting itself again?

Well, go ahead and ask me any questions, I'm the one who did that DIY.
