Default overhead console dimensions?

I am still not sure if I want to add one of these. I really like having a few more places to stuff things, but I am wondering if it will eat too much into my head room to be worth it for me.

I can't really tell from anyone pictures, just how big it is, so if anyone who has one of these could jot down the dimensions, the I could make a super quick "mock-up" out of cardboard, and drive around with it for an afternoon and see if it will be a solid solution for me.

Thanks in advance!

I've got one but my xB is at home. I'll tell you what, if you like the headroom, the box might seem a little confining to you. I Noticed it when I first installed mine but now that I'm used to it. I really like it.

width: 7.75"
depth 2.25"- 3.5" (less depth towards the front)
length: 30.5"

I thought to myself, "He WOULD ask for these just after I threw these measurements away," then I found them in my work drawer. I measured it to get a quote on a patterntek design.

fantastic!

I even have a cardboard box almost that EXACT size I cant ape up there to get a "feel" for it before I go with the real thing.

I wish all my local dealers weren't numb skulls, and went to the effort to get a few of these options in a car or two, so we could check them out. Every Scion dealer within 70 miles only has bone stock! (maybe a set of floormats) You would think that a car leaning so much toward customizing, and that's where the dealers gouge all their money from, they would have some examples at least!

Ours pimps out a couple of models, but they usually don't put in the overhead console or nets; they put in the stuff that's OBVIOUS that it's for show - otherwise people tend to think they got jipped because they saw that "one that had nets and a console and this one doesn't have that." That happens with the regular Toyotas all the time. With Scion people who put in the time to research what they're getting, it's not a problem, but with regular people, even convincing them that they can't negotiate (it's pure price!!! Gaaahhhh!!!) is an ordeal.

So I understand WHY they don't, but I also agree, having at least one with just some very basic add ons to show what it looks like would be nice. Have a "wild" one and have a "useful" one.

I'm still deciding if I'm going to paint mine. I'd really like a Patterntek dip, cause I want some texture/design/color in the interior. But I'm also a huge cheapscape. Anything over $60 is "expensive" and I'm looking at $250 if I remember correctly. I could do a lot of things for $250. *whistles longingly*
