Default Has anyone had issues with the TRD CAI and Car not starting?

Hi All,

Last week I had a problem with my car not starting and I thought it was the starter as well as the tow truck driver and Toyota. After further Diagnostics they found that it was the negative wire being relocated to the wrong spot. I had installed the CAI myself and followed the instructions step by step and put the negative wire where instructions said to put it. The guys at Toyota also said I did it right and if they installed it they would do the same. Unfortunately, they said the Old CAI box metal location was not strong enough to support the negative wire.

Well i ended up paying $400 bucks for them to release my car even though it wasnt my fault. As of now I have a case with Scion about this issue and the backing of my local dealership to try to recover my money. I was wondering if anyone else had this issue because the rep told me TRD never heard of anyone else with this issue. I was hoping I could find more people that had the same issue to build the case and maybe we can get our money back.

Thanks for reading!! ( Sorry for being so long!!)

I had mine installed at the dealer. They drove it out and turned it off while I went inside to get some stuff. Came back and it wouldn't start. They had done the same thing, the installer came out and figured it out and tightened or relocated the ground wire, it sounds like the same problem. Get them to at least split the cost, why $400? Thats crazy!
