Default Does Toyota/Scion have any rectangle keys?

I want to know if its possible to change from this:

to this if possible:

I need to be able to just put my key into my pockets without ripping a whole in my pants.

I have a factory alarm system installed. And would like the buttons on the rectangle key to be functional

If anybody has done something similar, please let me know!!

there is a sort of DIY on this for the tc key (which is the same) basically, provided the blade on the rectangle key is the proper length, have the pattern cut into it, then (and i don't remember if the xb2 has an engine immobilizer) remove the immobilizer chip from the oem key, and place it inside the recangle key. but the problem is that they didn't make the buttons work for any of the functions. so it was kinda a useless cosmetic mod, no functionality really.

you would have to know how to program and connect the buttons and relays to make the key function properly.

Your pants are too tight if you are ripping them with your key.

Ahhh, I wish there was a DIY for an XB Key.

I just got a new job where I have wear a suit the whole day, and I have to take my key off my lanyard to carry it around with me. As with suit pockets, its very smooth inside, and I'm afraid of ripping a whole through a nice pair of slacks.

Do you also have a XB? Would you mind posting pictures of it?

Also, please nobody buy this away from me, but is this the auction you were looking at?

I know when I was looking for the xa for alternative fobs you needed to look up the fcc id to see what frequency it worked on and if it matched it was ok. You need your fobs fcc id, the fcc id look up tool and the new fobs fcc id.

Myself, I like the prius rke. It seems to sense you are near and allows you to open doors, hatch and push a button and it starts.

so did anyone confirm whether this key will work on the xB or not?

if I read the auction correctly, this is just the flip keyblank + emtpy shell? we would need to transfer the electronics over from the original key? that might actually be a good thing because we don't have to mess with programming, and don't have to worry about cheap electronics failing.

so can anyone confirm?

I too get the same impression when I read that. I have never taken my key apart, but it looks like the shape may not fit.
