Default 18" Wheel w-45 offset !!

First want to say after driving my xB for 2 days I coudn't be more pleased with it, first the space and comfy it has and then the attention you get everywhere is amazing, now want to make my car look nicer, found set of 18" wheel that want to buy but the the offset on them is 45mm, now after couple of hours of search and reading the wheel fitment FAQ, I couldn't find that muh info about the 45 offset, so wondering if any one has the same size wheel, how was the fitment? did you use any spacer ?? thanks for any input in advance, Sean

Thanks, the wheels that I want are 18x7.5 +45 offset w- 215-35-18 rubbers but I also have the option to get the same wheel in 17x7 +40 offset ?? do you think I should get the 17 then ?? one more thing about the ride of the car would it be a big difference between 17 and 18 wheel ? or it's not that noticable ?? also can I fit 215-45-17 rubber under Xb or I should go with 215-40-17 ?? I'm also getting Spy spring not sure about the drop yet ! , thanks and sorry for all these question just don't want to order things that I can't use, Sean

i would get 17 instead...
SPY has two kinds of springs, which one u getting? 2inch or 1.25 inch?

215/40 seems like the perfect size...
but if u lower only 1.25 u can fit 215/45

I would opt for some other wheels... but this is only because I am not in favor of the sunken in wheel look. You'll have to run a spacer get them out to where they will look nice. Remember there is already a small stock flare on this car. The wheel wells can take up to a 10" wide wheel if you get the right offset. Search around this part of the forum for some people's specs and you'll find what you like. It's all a matter of personal preference and budget. But I think you'll be more staisfied if you go with a lower offset wheel and achieve the flush look.

just my $0.02

Thanks for the advices guys, I changed my mind about the wheels, this is not a show car so big spacer to just make car look nice is out for me (safety matter) but instead found other wheel that's more money but I can shosse the offset any where from +20 up to +40, after reading and asking couple of question, I think will get the +30 offset on all four of them, they are 18x8 but still working on tire size, may be 215-40 18 or 225-35- 18, don't know just want to get the max comfort out of them, what you guys sugggest, Sean

215/35/18 in the fronts 225/40/18 in the back..that's what I'm running. 40s in the front will rub. I like the meat on the rear.

Which brand of wheel are you getting where you can choose the off-set?

I would go with 215.40.18 because I know my friend runs those setup with TRD springs and his happy with this setup.

I just got a call from my supplier, that they can only get them in chrome and also with +35 offset for 4x100 and 18x8", should I get them or the offset is a little bit high for 8" wheel, Sean

Hello, Well I knew something will happen, the deal with the RH wheel didn't got through (I have to wait about month or so) so I went and save some money and got set of Branzach, anyway will post some pics as soon as got them, but about the tires size I'm thinking about 215-35-18 front and 225-40-18 in the back, would this work, the wheels are still 18x8 ET35, thanks Sean

Default 215/35/18 18 x8.5" with 42mm offset

I have enkei DM5 18x8.5 on my XB. with 42mm offset. You would have to go 45mm offset to fit anything wider. My rear trailing arms rubbed about 2mm of tire and letter off inside of tire. Which kinda sucks for rotation purposes because the tires are directional and cant change sides now......

Actually, the opposite is true, the wider you go, the lower offset you will need, to get the inner lip of the wheel AWAY from the rear suspension arm. If you are rubbing right now (and at 8.5" wide, +42mm offset, you definitely must be), you REALLY need to space those wheels out because under cornering, the minute amount of flexure will make your wheel rim and tire scrub your suspension arm, even if you don't hear or notice it... so it's better to be safe than sorry.
