Default Shock Options [xA]

I currently have TRD springs on stock shocks and plan on getting H&R springs and wanted to know what my options are for aftermarket shocks.

Thanks!

Currently neither of the brands we carry (Koni & KYB) offer dampers for the xA - Sorry!

Will ones for the Echo work on the xA?

I got the TRD sportivo shocks and struts in my XA and wow what a difference from stock!! I lowered with the Gold-line springs and with the TRD shocks/struts it rides better than it did stock and it's 2" lower!!! It doesn't chatter over rough roads and feels softer but with less body roll in corners.

Koni Yellows for the Echo fit the xA. KYB GR2s for the Echo fit the xA, too. I believe KYB has AGXs for the Echo, but not in the US...

Do you know if there is any modification required? Or if it fits 'perfectly'?

Thanks!

Can anyone verify if there is any fitment/fabrication for Koni ones?

Looking to do a whole suspension revamp soon

Yea, it's CSUS parking lot #2. Took it before school started, that's why it's so empty.

bump for my question. Anyone know if Koni's for echo will require any fitment to fit on an xA?

If you are going to get H&R springs why not get the H&R cup kit?

I dunno about fit, but I wonder if there's any kind of difference, given the slight variations in weight and distribution, in comparison with the Echo. I don't know if shocks designed for an Echo (if there is a such a thing) would be properly calibrated for an xA. My guess is they might not be tuned to the optimal level. I'd ask Toyota for a second opinion. . . see if the Echo shocks and xA shocks are interchangeable. I know that there is a difference between the xA and xB, so there could be a difference between the xA and Echo as well.

I've read that the Echo Koni shocks have a higher rate than the xA since it's slightly heavier, so it'll make my car stiffer, which is what I'm looking for; stiff. I guess I'll be bold and get the Koni's and see if they fit.

Any Toyota guys here know if the shocks for Echo and xA are interchangable?

As for why I don't get H&R cup kit, because when I last checked, H&R doesn't have a cup kit for the Echo/xA according to TireRack. However, if you have seen cup kits for the Echo/xA, please send me the link, I'd be interested in checking them out.

Thanks for the link.. I'll look into it. Not too much info on it, must have been released recently... not even a price!

Default JUST shocks?

Has anyone installed the TRD schocks ONLY? and no springs?

I have already lived with a lowered car for many years. now I need something that will not eat speed bumps, as well as carry all my crap around.

If you have just the shock/strut combo, how is it? Ride, handling, rough roads etc..

Thanks

Gary
