I'm curious about this as well...

Especially since I have it lowered with the Tein S Springs.
Should I stick with 18s?

Default rub

Yes the Front ones rub slightly on the edges. I have TRD 19" wt Perrili P-Zero Nero tires. I have the Tein S-tech Springs and the 19"s and it does rub with big dips. I have to do some thing to fix the problem, since I don't want to buy new tires.

Basically, YES 19s will fit with NO rubbing with no drop or moderate drop (even staggared setup). I have 19"x8.5" w/225s on the front with NO RUBBING at all lowered 2". The rears are 19"x9.5" w/245s lowered approx 2.5" (because of my stereo it is a little lower) with some slight rubbing that I will have to take care of. My rears are tucking if that lets you know I am low. My offsets are +35f +40r. Some slight trimming and maybe slight fender roll will be in order to make sure I dont have any further rubbing issues.

Also, the Scionspeed turbo car has 265s in the rear on 19"s... There is TONS of room under there compared to a lot of compacts! Also before they put on the Piaa wheels, they were lowered like over 3" on their first set of 19s - looked good!
