anybody have the trd lowering springs + shocks?
anybody have the trd lowering springs + shocks?
if you do, what do you think about them?
im considering picking up the springs soon and then in a couple thousand miles getting the shocks.

You don't need the shocks with the TRD springs because the drop isn't too big. But if you have the money to blow, congrats. The guy at the Scion dealership actually talked me out of getting the shocks. If you go for springs that drop ya more, you may want the new ones. I've been rolling on the stock shocks with TRD springs for the past 2 months and the ride still feels good.
Either way, congrats on the decision to step it up a notch

I recently installed Goldline springs and TRD shocks/struts on my xA at 33,000 miles. The ride actually IMPROVED. On smooth road, this set up is less harsh than the OEM set up (with 1 year and 33,000 miles on it)
The biggest change to the ride quality was going to 17" wheels.......

Agreed...do it all at once if you can.
The springs will practically pay for themselves if you buy and install everything at once vs. paying for a second install of springs.
I wanted the Goldines for the slightly lower drop than the TRD springs and for the famous smooth ride. The TRD shocks/struts are worth the investment IMO as well. (got them from www.trdsparks.com)
I did the wheel/tires and suspension mods from stock in 2 steps so I could feel the difference each made. First, I did the tires/wheels and left suspension alone....drove it for a week. Noticeable difference....fun factor goes up big time. Car looks goofy perched up that high on 17s though.
Then I did the suspension mods. Even better handling/ride/feel, but I noticed a bigger difference going from stock wheels/tires to the 17s (with stock suspension) then I did adding the aftermarket suspension to the bigger wheels/tires.
Only negative to these mods here in NJ is navigating around our pot-hole riddled highways....I commute 100 miles round trip on Rt. 80 every day. (I'm SO happy I didn't get 18s or 19s). Hitting potholes or large bumps with this set up will definitely make you cringe if you're used to the OEM wheels/tires/suspension.
