Default Install Direction of Tein Rear on XB

I just put in my Tein S-Tech springs and as there were no instructions, I installed the tighter wound coil side up. It sits correctly, but makes a clocking noise, especially the first 1 mile of driving, repetatively.

So is it possible that the springs are upside down? Or is there any other possibility where I may have screwed up, it looked staight forward. Any input of the specialists out there is welcome at this point.

Thanks

My Goldline were tighter side up. Not sure if that means
anything considering they are different springs, but that's
how they fit on my box.

I ride S-Techs, Tighter side up, There should have been a plastic or rubber
sleeve around the upper 2 or 3 coils.

Hope this helps..

The word TEIN is on each spring so just see if the word is upside down or not. Make sense?

OK, so they are installed correctly, and the logo is facing the right way, and they have the brown plastic sections as indicated to prevent metal to metal touch... and I cleaned the cups to be sure there is no debris. But they still make a sound, clock, clock... it goes away after a short drive, like they are settling in for the ride. After I stop the car for a while and get going again, it starts again.
I sounds almost like they are "popping" into their correct position under load (bumps) and once settled, stay there until the load is taken off, just to move out of their position again ever so slightly.

Is there a particular position they are supposed to be in vertically? I mean does the logo have to face forward, or sideways, or rearward for them to be in their perfect position? The top rubber piece has 3 prongs and a raised flat side to accomodate the gap in the coil, does this rubber piece have to face into a particular direction? Do I need to grease something or is this a dry install?

Thanks.

did u put the rubber gaskets back on the top and the bottom of the spring from the old spring? that would eliminate any clunking/clocking sounds

I would make sure they were seated properly, and slowly lower the car to check.

So it ended up being the custom exhaust hitting the cross member when I drove over bumps, both for and aft corners were hitting at differnt times. I swapped the exhaust back to stock and all is well. Thanks for your ideas.
