Default Alignment...

Before I get my new rims put on, I need to know if I will need an alignment. My car is on the stock 15-inch wheels and snow tires, but I'm upgrading to a 17-inch wheel with a 215.40.17 tire. Since I'm changing sizes, will I need a four-wheel alignment?

You wont need an alignment if you are just swapping wheels. You only usually need an alignment if you are installing springs or messing with your suspension somehow. Usually its just with a spring or coilover install.

If the alignment was good before you swapped you are OK. But an alignment is a cheap investment - many good tire shops will check it for free and only charge you if your box needs to be aligned. You can easily ruin a good set of tires if you your alignment is off. In the northeast where we have potholes many people get car checked in spring and fall. Get it checked!!!!
