Airride (bag) systems, homemade, not kit
Okay, I've been thinking about setting this up but can't find much information on it. All the posts kinda touch on it but don't really get into it.
Here's the deal: I've got a rather large speaker box holding my L5, I like the box and will use it in whatever I'm doing. So I don't want a huge holding tank. I'm not looking for all kinds of amazing stuff, just to be able to adjust the ride height, get a decent right out of it (On tanabe's right now and love them) and look good.
I know I'm going to go with 4 valves per axle, not worried about side-to-side, just like the complete adjustability of it.
Also, will the pump fit under the hood? Seems to be plenty of space in there for one.
Lastly, someone mentioned mounting the tank somewhere other then in the pass. area, I've not noticed anywhere one would fit (unless you gutted the rear bumper, and then a wreck would be ugly). If there is somewhere else to put a small holding tank, I'd like that too. Out of site, stealth, ya know?
Any ideas?

you may be able to fit a pancake style tank under the front passenger seat. Using 4 valves isnt just for adjustability, its for handling. You could fit a ViAir 380 under the hood. You could fit a 3 gallon pancake tank under the rear of the car. Ive seen it done. Youll hate having a 3 gallon tank. I wish my 5 gallon was at least a 7 gallon.
Under the seats is already taken with stereo gear.
I'm not looking to play with it much, so I'm hoping a 5-gallon will be enough. I'd like to do a stealth install. Also, my box can be rapidly removed, so I still have access to all my space. I'd like the bottle also out of the way so I can do the same thing.
What all is involved in the install? I know about the front struts (strut bags or cylinders?) and the rear bag (have been thinking firestone), lines, guages, valves, pump and tank. Oh, and a water filter.
I'm sure there is plenty I'm missing (fittings?). Also, where is the best place to get this stuff at a good price?
Thanks for all the help!
